Hola! Parisen viikkoa sitten lapsilla oli koulusta syysloma ja mun host-isän vanhemmat tuli tänne meille kaukaa rapakon takaa Jenkkilästä. Viikko oli täynnä hulinaa ja huisketta, kun täällä meidän katon alla majaili 7 ihmistä. Mä lähdin loman lopulla käymään Madridissa, mutta kirjoittelen siitä pian oman postauksen.
Oli ihana tavata Amerikan grandma ja grandpa ja pääsin tekemään sellaisia "turistijuttuja", joita en vielä ollut päässyt tekemään mun Mallorcalla olon aikana. Käytiin esimerkiksi Sóllerissa päiväreissulla, ajettiin saaren pohjoisimpaan kolkkaan katsomaan auringonlaskua ja käytiin outlet-kylässä.
Käytiin katsomassa Amyn Halloween-tanssiesitystä outlet-kylässä ja sitä ennen ajettiin sellaiselle näköalatasanteelle, josta näkyi koko Palma ja saaren eteläpuoli. Menomatka ylös oli tosi pelottava pientä, kapeaa tietä pitkin. Ylhäällä kuitenkin kaikki kärsimys palkittiin :-D
Hola! Couple of weeks ago the kids had a holiday from school and my host dad's parents came here from the States. Our week was pretty busy and at the end of the holiday I went to Madrid to see my Mexican friend. It was great to meet the American drandma and grandpa. We made a lot of "tourist stuff" which I hadn't had time to do before. We went to Sóller (which is in the northern part of the island) and went to the outlet mall.
Amy had a dancing competition, that's why she was dressed and had her face painted! She's so talented! I was like a proud mum with my camera and everything. Before that we went to this vantage point, where we saw the whole Palma and the bay. The journey all the way up was pretty scary since the road was so small and curvy!

Seuraavana päivänä lähdettiinkin tosiaan Port de Sólleriin autolla. Ajomatka kesti pari tuntia, koska pysähdyttiin aina välillä ottamassa kuvia upeista maisemista. Olin oikeastaan viettänyt nämä pari ensimmäistä kuukautta pelkästään rannikolla palmuja katsellessa mutta nyt pääsin näkemään, kuinka monipuolista Mallorcan luonto onkaan!
The next day we went to Port de Sóller by car. It was a 2-hour drive since we took the smaller mountain road. The views were breathtaking! After having lived these past months by the beach and palm trees, it was interesting to see how versatile Mallorca is actually.

Port de Sóller (Sóllerin satama) olikin sitten yksi kauneimmista paikoista, joissa olen Mallorcalla käynyt! Satama-alue oli täynnä veneitä, ravintoloita ja kahviloita. Iso ranta oli jo melko tyhjä, sillä turistikausi on täällä jo loppunut (mikä on tosi hyvä juttu...) Ratikkayhteys yhdistää Sóllerin sataman ja Sóllerin kylän toisiinsa. Sóller sijaitsee n. 5km rannikolta sisämaahan. Me ei käyty siellä kylässä, mutta oon kuullut että se on tosi kaunis paikka!
Port de Soller is definitely one of the most beautiful places where I've been in Mallorca. The harbour was full of boats and yachts and it was surrounded by interesting cafés and restaurants. The white beach was almost empty since it's off-season here. There's a tram going from the city of Soller to the port. The city is located around 5 kilometers from the beach to the mainland.

Tämän jälkeen ajettiin vielä Cap de Formentoriin, joka on Mallorcan pohjoisin piste. Siellä on majakka, jonne pääsee ajamalla pienen pientä vuoristotietä. Jälleen korkean paikan kammoisena en nauttinut kovinkaan paljoa kyseisestä tiestä (varsinkaan lasten pelotellessa vieressä) mutta majakka oli tosi hieno ja näkymät vielä upeammat!
After this we went to Cap de Formentor, which is the most northern point of Mallorca. There's a lighthouse which you can visit by taking another small and curvy road. For someone who's afraid of heights (me...) the journey isn't so pleasant but once you get there, it's really worth it. The views were fantastic!
